“…at first sight” is a visual love letter to Killeavy Castle Estate-a place that whispered and touched my soul from the very moment I turned into driveway.
This painting is more than an artwork is a conversation between my soul and spirit and the energy of this uniquely magical place. Killeavy’s atmosphere-so vibrant and alive, yet deeply soothing and peaceful-has left an unforgettable imprint on me. Through a combination of soft and vibrant tones and flowing movement, I was trying to capture energy that surrounds Killeavy- at once uplifting and deeply grounding. The lush summer greens, misty morning air, ancient trees and delicate hues of hydrangeas, soft moss and firm stones all find their place here, along with the shimmer of peacock feathers and the sound of waterfalls and rivers.
The connection I felt was so immediate and powerful that just two months after my first visit, I relocated from County Kerry to County Louth to be near this land that continues to inspire, heal and move me to create.
Killeavy Castle Estate…my muse, the place where my soul belongs.
